Susan Bones is a fictional character from the Harry Potter Universe.

[edit] Background

Susan Bones is a half-blood witch born to Mr. and Mrs. Bones from September 1979 to August 1980. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the same year as the famous Harry Potter and was sorted into Hufflepuff House. She shared a dormitory with Hannah Abbott, Megan Jones, and Leanne, whose surname is unknown. She was related to the great witch, Amelia Bones, who most unfortunately was killed by Lord Voldemort. In her fifth year, Susan joined an organization formed by Harry Potter called Dumbledore's Army. Along with many other members of the army, she helped fight in the Battle of Hogwarts in her seventh year and survived.

[edit] History

Susan in her first year.

Susan entered her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first book the same year as the famous Harry Potter did. She was sorted into Hufflepuff House and shared a dormitory with Hannah Abbott, Megan Jones, and Leanne. Other people in her year who were sorted into Hufflepuff include Ernie Macmillan and Justin Finch-Fletchley.

[edit] The Chamber of Secrets

Susan entered her second year at Hogwarts when a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher took the position. Susan developed a crush on the new teacher, who was Gilderoy Lockhart, an apparently extraordinary wizard who owned and wrote many books. She and Hermione Granger must have got on well during their second year as they both shared interest in their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. She joined Professor Lockhart's Duelling Club. When it was revealed that Gilderoy Lockhart was not really a wizard who was as great as mostly everyone thought he was, Susan must have been slightly disappointed and became disinterested with him.

[edit] The Order of the Phoenix

Susan's aunt attended Harry Potter's hearing on his and his cousin's encounter with Dementors and asked him if he could produce a corporeal Patronus charm. Susan later asked Harry this during the school year and explained to him that Madame Bones was her aunt. She joined Dumbledore's Army, an organization formed by Harry, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, which taught defense against the Dark Arts.

[edit] The Half-Blood Prince

Before entering her sixth year, Susan's great witch aunt "Madame" Amelia Bones was murdered by Lord Voldemort, shaking and worrying her greatly as most of her family members and relatives had been killed in the first and second wizarding wars. During the sixth years' first lesson on Apparition, she managed to Apparate into her hoop, but cried out in pain after her leg had been Splinched. Fortunately, the Heads of Houses came to her aid and patched up her easily. According to Harry Potter's perspective, that was just about the only interesting part of the lesson.

[edit] The Deathly Hallows

Despite most of her relatives being killed in the wizarding wars, Susan returned to Hogwarts, which was now under the control of Lord Voldemort through the Headmastership of Headmaster Severus Snape, for her seventh and final year and rejoined the reformation of the Dumbledore's Army.

[edit] Battle of Hogwarts

Susan participated in the Battle of Hogwarts along with many other army members. She most likely survived, as she was not mentioned or seen by Harry Potter when he searched the Great Hall for all of the people who died in the war when they were allowed to set aside the killed fighters, but her life after the war is not known.
