Voldemort is a fictional character from the Harry Potter Universe
A man who is considered by his followers the greatest wizard in the world. Growing up with the name Thomas Riddle, he changed his name and appearance after he left Hogwarts. He has white, pale skin, slit-like eyes which are red, and a nose that are just two slits, so he can look more like a snake which is cunning like him. Voldemort has a group of followers that were his "friends" in school, which he calls Death Eaters. Voldemort has killed many, and with his killings, has split his soul into 8 fragments, Horcruxes, so he could become 'Immortal' (not able to die).
HistoryVoldemort tried to kill Harry with the killing curse, Avada Kedavra, when he was a baby. He killed both of Harry's parents, but his mother died to save his life, so Voldemort couldn't kill him.
After that, his Death Eaters disbanded, and he was forced to hide in forests in Albania, until a man called Quirrel came. He wanted to steal the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone, which Dumbledore was guarding in Hogwarts. Voldemort possessed Quirrel who taught Defense Against The Dark Arts at the school. When Harry came to Hogwarts, Quirrel tried to kill him many times. He tried to make him fall off his broom during a Quidditch match, but Snape stopped him. After Harry was alone with Quirrel and Voldemort in the Mirror chamber, Harry managed to escape because Quirrel was not able to touch Harry due to Voldemort being in Quirrel's body. Voldemort cannot touch Harry because Lily sacrificed herself in order to save Harry resulting in a kind of 'Love Charm' being placed on Harry. Voldemort doesn't understand love, therefore he is affected by the charm Lily placed on Harry.
In Harry's second year, Voldemort, or rather Tom Riddle, possessed Ginny Weasley with his diary, and made her unleash the monster of Slytherin, the Basilisk. When Harry went down to the Chamber of Secrets he met Tom Riddle and he was draining the life out of Ginny. Harry killed the Basilisk by driving the sword of Gryffindor through the mouth of the Basilisk. After he killed it, he took it's fang and drove it through the diary, vanishing Riddle.
In the fourth book, Voldemort regained his body with the help of Peter Pettigrew, who was originally Ron's rat, Scabbers. After Harry and Cedric Diggory both touch the Triwizard Cup during the Triwizard Tournament in the final challenge, it transported them to Voldemort's father graveyard. Pettigrew kills Cedric, takes Harry, and hangs him up on Voldemort's fathers tomb. To resurrect Voldemort's body, he needed bone of his father, flesh from his servant, and blood from his enemy. When he came back to life, Voldemort summoned his Death Eaters. They came, and Voldemort wanted to kill Harry. He dueled him, and when Voldemort tried the killing curse, and Harry tried the stunning charm, their wands connected and on a little thread that connected their wands was a light ball. Harry fought, and it went to Voldemort's side and all of the recent people that Voldemort killed came out of his wand as spirits. They bought him time to take Cedric's body back out of the grave through the portkey. In the sixth book, Voldemort assigned Draco Malfoy to kill Dumbledore. He did this so that he could have revenge on Lucius for being caught in Azkaban. Dumbledore gives Harry lessons. In them,he takes Harry into the Pensieve into other people's memories, to learn about Voldemort's past. We learn that his mother was a descendant of Salazar Slytherin himself. After her brother, Morfin Gaunt and her father Marvolo Gaunt are taken off to Azkaban, she uses a love potion to trick Tom Riddle Sr. to marry her. Well Merope Gaunt stopped using it after she was pregnant, so that he would fall in love with her anyway, but he left. She went to an orphanage when she was about to give birth, and died when she was done, hoping that they would name her son Tom Riddle. They did, and when he was 11, Dumbledore visited him and told him about Hogwarts. In the seventh book, he was in total control of the Ministry and was hunting down the Order, mudbloods, and Harry. He didn't meet him until the battle at Hogwarts. When the battle of Death Eaters against Hogwarts is going on, Harry sneaks from the castle to the Shrieking Shack, where he knows Voldemort is.Snape is there. Voldemort wanted the Elder Wand's full power, and the only way to get it is to kill the rightful owner. Dumbledore was the owner, and Snape killed him, so Voldemort killed Snape. He then goes into the Forbidden Forest and waits for Harry to come. When Voldemort sees Harry from where he is, he kills him. He is knocked unconsious. When he comes to, he sees that he killed Harry, and uses the torturing curse on him. Harry doesn't move by himself, so Hagrid carries him back to the grounds. When they get there, Voldemort tried to untie the two sides into a wizarding dominate world, but Neville opposes. He comes down and kills Nagini, Voldemort's pet snake, and his last Horcrux, so Voldemort is vulnerable now. Harry takes his chance of distraction to sprint back into the school and he prepares to face Voldemort. When they duel, Voldemort tried to use the killing curse, and Harry tried to stun. Harry hits Voldemort with his spell, and it kills him.

 Tom Marvolo Riddle
Hogwarts. During his time at Hogwarts, he wrote a diary about all his times, he seemed to be a clever student, but had a hidden evil and sneaky side. During his time at Hogwarts he opened the Chamber of Secrets, and continued until a student got killed. Due to his living at the orphanage he didn't want the school to close down so he Framed Rubeus Hagrid for the chamber. During Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Tom Riddles diary fell into the hands of Ginny Weasley, he used her to open the Chamber of Secrets and continue the work he started 50 years previous. He also tried to use her to become whole again as Tom Riddle, and we see how he chose his the name Voldemort, and that was by creating the anagram I am Lord Voldemort from his full name.
