Spells in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (GBC)

During Magical Encounters, Harry and his friends must use spells to defeat their opponents. There's a total of 10 spells, of which 6 have three spell levels (uno, duo and tria), 1 with two (uno and duo), and three with one. Each spell can be obtained on a different way.

[edit] Expelliarmus

Expelliarmus is greatly effective against opponents with weapons, yet does no damage to those that do not have weapons. Harry and Ron learn this spell after Harry duels Malfoy.

[edit] Flipendo

Flipendo Uno costs no magic points, and is available from the start of the game.

[edit] Fumos

Only Ron and Hermione possess this spell. When either of them casts the spell, the other teammates will be harder to hit.

[edit] Incendio

Incendio is a plant-killing spell taught to you by Professor Sprout after capturing the escaped Baby Mandrakes.

The Informous Spell is used to find information about enemies you're encountering. After casting the spell, an entry of the enemy will be placed in the Folio Bruti. The Informous spell is taught to you by Mr. Weasley after degnoming Ron's garden. The Informous spell costs no Magic Points.

[edit] Mucus Adnauseum

The Mucus Adnauseum spell poisons your opponent, damaging it every turn. The Mucus Adnauseum spell is taught to you by Moaning Myrtle after giving her a lily.

[edit] Petrificus Totalus

Petrifus Totalus is used to paralyse your enemies, taught to you by Katie Bell after returning her book in a side-quest.

[edit] Skurge

Skurge is a spell you learn by pressing A while next to the desk in Filch's office after Mrs. Norris is petrified. The Skurge spell causes great damage to ghostly opponents, yet barely does damage to living enemies.

[edit] Verdimillious

A more powerful spell than Vermillious, yet not the same at all. You will possess Verdimillious Uno from the start of the game.

The Vermillious Spell is a spell which produces fire. You will possess Vermillious Uno from the start of the game.
