Nyphadora Lupin (née Tonks) is a character of the Harry Potter Universe.

[edit] Background

Tonks attanded the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardary in 1984 and was sorted by the Sorting Hat into the Hufflepuff house. However, Tonks never acheived a Prefect due to her misbehaviour whilst at the school, but was able to obtain a high level of skill as an Auror in 1994 and also had standard school grades upon graduating.

Tonks is a Metamorphmagus, meaning that she can change her appearance at will. She often changes the colour of her hair, though is most favourable of bubblegum pink.

[edit] Auror

After undergoing years of training to be an Auror under the teachings of Alastor Moody, her abilities as a Metamorphmagus allowed her to easily pass the concealment and disguise part of the examination. However, she found it hard to pass the stealth and part of the test due to her clumsiness. She eventually qualified as an auror in 1994.

[edit] History

Tonks became part of the Order of the Phoenix, and participated in many of their missions, including escorting Harry Potter to Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place (the Order's headquarters in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the Half-Blood Prince), the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower.

Tonks and her husband, Remus Lupin, prepare for the Battle of Hogwarts together.

In the final book, Nymphadora Tonks was killed by her aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange. Despite being initially hesitant to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts, Tonks leaves her son, Teddy Lupin, to fight alongside her husband. Tonks arrives at Hogwarts late and is told that her husband was last seen dueling Antonin Dolohov. Tonks arrives late and witnesses her husbands death and is later murdered by Bellatrix.

Tonks and Lupins bodies are laid out in the main hallway and are referred to as peaceful-looking. [1]
