Marcus Flint is a fictional character from the Harry Potter Universe.
Marcus Flint as played by Jamie Yeates.
|Affiliation||Slytherin's Quidditch Team|
Marcus Flint was born in 1975, into what was presumably a pure-blood family. His teeth were very irregular, which to one point made Harry wonder if he had Troll blood in him. He was also obviously in favour of brawns over brains.
Marcus was sorted into the Slytherin house in 1986, but was a quite poor student. However, he had a talent for playing Quidditch, probably helped by his physical abilities. He joined the Slytherin Quidditch as a Chaser at one point, and was appointed captain at another. He had a fierce rivalry with the captain of the Gryffindor team, Oliver Wood, and the two would often try to break each other's fingers when handshaking before a match.
At the start of the 1992 Quidditch season, Draco Malfoy bought his way into the team by having his father, Lucius Malfoy, buy the entire team the newest Nimbus 2001 brooms. Flint proudly carried his around, and the Slytherin team met the Gryffindor team, who they laughed at because of their old brooms. Hermione Granger stood up to the cocky Draco Malfoy and remarked that all the players at the Gryffindor had played, not bought, their way into the team. Draco proceeded to call her a Mudblood, which made Ron Weasley angry enough to try and curse Draco. The spell backfired, and Ron started vomiting slugs, letting the whole Slytherin team have a good laugh.
Flint's extreme lack of intelligence became obvious when he had to take the final year again. He continued to play as captain, though, and at one occasion, he dressed up as a Dementor together with Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle to scare Harry Potter.
