A Horcrux is an object which is kept hidden from common knowledge in the Wizarding World. Horcruxes are extremely Dark Magic; to create a Horcrux, you have to commit murder.

History

The first Horcrux was made by Herpo the Foul, who also hatched the first Basilisk.

Voldemort's Horcruxes

Voldemort is the wizard who has created the most Horcruxes throughout history; in fact, he is the only wizard to create more than one Horcrux at all. Below is a list of the Horcruxes he made throughout his lifetime (in chronological order):

• Salazar Slytherin's Locket
• Helga Hufflepuff's Cup
• Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem
