Rubeus Hagrid is a fictional character from the Harry Potter Universe.
Hagrid is a half-giant. His mother is a giantress, and his father was a wizard. When he was young, his mother left, and that left his father to look after him. When Hagrid was 11, he was over 11 feet tall, and was accepted into Hogwarts. In his second year, his father died. In Hagrid's third year, he bought Aragog, and kept him in a cupboard in the school. When the monster of Slytherin got out and killed a girl, Moaning Myrtle, Tom Riddle accused Hagrid of being the heir, and Aragog the monster. Hagrid got expelled, but Albus Dumbledore gave him the gameskeeper job and let him live in a cabin by the school. Hagrid never got rid of his wand, but he put it in a pink umbrella and uses it. In Harry Potter's 5th year, he finds out that Hagrid had been trying to persuade the Giant's to come to the good side but to no success. Hagrid also brings back his half-brother Grawp and teaches him English, keeping him in the Forbidden Forest. At Hogwarts he became close friends with Harry and his friends Hermione and Ron. Hagrid mourned for his death when Voldemort told everyone Harry was dead.
