The Goblet Of Fire

The Goblet of Fire is used in the Triwizard Tournament's and chooses which school represents their school by spewing out the students names in red flames. The Goblet is an impartial judge, so it picks those that it deem's worthy of representing the school, and can only pick one. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the first time we see the Goblet. It is put under a spell to only allow a certain age to input their names. One student from each school participating, in the book three schools participated and they where:

• Beauxbatons
  Olympe Maxime
• Durmstrang Institute
  Igor Karkaroff
• Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
  Albus Dumbledore

Each school was allowed only one member to advance to become champion, and the host school's headteacher would read out the names of those that got chosen. In the case of the book, a forth champion was chosen, meaning that Hogwarts had two people within the tournament.

• Viktor Krum from Durmstrang Institute
• Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
• Harry Potter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
