The elder wand, is the most powerful wand to ever have been made, and in The Tales of Beedle the Bard, it was said that the wand was fashioned from an Elder Tree by Death himself. The wand only obeys the person who defeats its previous owner, including killing, disarming or beating on a duel. The wand is one of the three Deathly Hallows. The very first owner of this wand was the eldest Peverell brother, who was an arrogant man. He was murdered in his sleep for the wand, and that was how the bloody history of the wand began. Prior to the wand being owned by Albus Dumbledore, many famous wizards have owned it, but never a witch. People spoken about prior to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows who have owned the wand include Gregorovitch, the famous wandmaker and Gellert Grindelwald. Dumbledore asked Severus Snape to kill him in the hopes of preventing the magic from carrying on, but this plan was destroyed by Draco Malfoy unwittingly disarming him atop the Astronomy tower, making him the wand's master. Harry then disarmed Draco in Malfoy Manor and became the final master of the wand, using it to repair his beloved holly and phoenix feather one, deciding that it should be put back into the grave of Dumbledore, from where Voldemort had taken it. By leaving it there until his own inevitable death in a far off future, Harry knew that he would break the magic of the Elder Wand.
