Death Eaters are fictional characters from the Harry Potter Universe

Background

The Death Eaters are a group of witches and wizards that are loyal to and fight for Lord Voldemort.

Voldemort

They believe that the world should be for those that are pure of magic blood, rather than including Half-Bloods or Muggles. The death eaters where last seen 20 years before the Harry Potter series, when they disbanded while Voldemort was disembodied, and can be identified by thier Dark Mark.

History

When voldemort fell, the death eaters scattered and disbanded, with a few searching for Voldemort, and a some being caught, and tried. The death eaters that where tried and found guilty where sent to Azkaban, some claimed they where bewitched by the Imperius Curse while others turned in other death eaters for thier freedom. When Voldemort regained full strength he summoned summoned his followers, with only a few turning up as others where dead, imprisoned, or too affraied to return. The return of the death eaters was hard to believe for some people, the Minister for Magic refused to believe they had returned, so refused to remove the Dementors as guards for Azkaban. The death eaters found the Dementors, and recruited them, allowing thier followers that where locked up to be released. The death eaters attacked hogwarts, ending Dumbledores life, they then returned for Voldemorts final battle inwhich he is killed by Harry. When Voldemort died that was the end of the death eaters.
