Not very much is known about Dolohov's childhood, but it is presumed that he went to school with Voldemort and that he was one of his friends there.

Dolohov is one of the most feared Death Eaters, as he has defeated many of the greatest wizards in history. He killed Molly Weasley's brothers, and also once outbattled Harry, Hermione and Neville by himself, almost killing Hermione. In the last installment of the series, he also kills Remus Lupin.

It is unknown what exactly happened to Dolohov after this; he was defeated in a duel by Filius Flitwick, but it is not known if Flitwick killed him. If he survived, he was most likely sent to Azkaban.
